DJ Fett – About Me

I first developed an interest in learning to mix around 1998 when my friend Heist (now on Metalheadz) was first playing out at parties and clubs. He inspired me to stop buying tapepacks and start buying vinyl. He showed me what equipment I needed so I went out and bought a pair of 1210s and a cheap mixer, amp and monitors.

I first started out with a passion for Hardcore and Drum n Bass but also loved Trance and House.

In 2003 I discovered Nu Skool Breaks, I was captivated by the raw power of this music and I just loved the new twist on the Old Skool Hardcore classics.

Now I was building a large collection of records and started putting out mix Cd’s and dabbled with producing my tracks. At this time I was listening to Essex pirate radio station Mystery FM, when I heard they were recruiting DJs I applied and had a regular slot on a Monday afternoon and Thursday morning.

Between 2005 -2009 I played out at parties and events across Essex playing at local clubs and raves and left Mystery to move into Internet radio.

I started my own Internet Radio station (EvilKitty.tv) but soon found that the running of the station was draining me of my passion for the music, so after just over a year my partner and I decided to shut it down to DJ elsewhere and enjoy the music again.

The last couple of years I have been playing on RoughTempo.com and CycloneRadio.co.uk, and concentrating on my other passions such as web development, business and internet marketing. I now host The Breakout Podcast (available through iTunes).
